What is the Combined Cadet Force (CCF)?
The Combined Cadet Force is a national youth organisation that provides students with a structured and supportive environment to develop personal, leadership, and teamwork skills. The CCF at Knole Academy is part of a network of schools across the UK that offers cadets a variety of activities designed to build confidence, resilience, and discipline. Cadets will have the opportunity to engage in a range of exciting outdoor and military-style activities, including fieldcraft, map reading, drill, and leadership training.

What Does the CCF Program Involve?
At Knole Academy, the CCF is run every Thursday afternoon from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, providing students with a regular opportunity to engage in training and activities. The program is designed to be challenging yet rewarding, offering both theoretical and practical training. Key areas of focus include:
- Fieldcraft: Learn essential survival skills, including navigation, campcraft, and how to work effectively in the field.
- Drill and Ceremonial: Master the art of drill, discipline, and military-style formations, fostering precision and attention to detail.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Take part in leadership exercises, group challenges, and team-building activities that encourage collaboration and responsibility.
- Adventure Training: Get involved in outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and expeditions, which promote resilience and self-reliance.
- Shooting and Sports: Students may have the opportunity to participate in target shooting, marksmanship, and other sports-related activities designed to develop focus and concentration.
Who can join?
The CCF at Knole Academy is open to all students in Years 10–13 who have an interest in developing their leadership potential, improving their teamwork skills, and enjoying a wide range of exciting and challenging activities. No previous experience is required to join; all that’s needed is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
